In 2012, CG|LS coordinated a group of ILASLA volunteer members to design and build a play garden at the annual Chicago Flower and Garden Show. The garden design included elements of exploration and sand, chalk, yarn, foam blocks, and beach balls often associated with adventure play. Materials used were mostly found objects and donated materials. The Garden Show President / Show Director, Tony Abruscato, noted it was the most successful play garden ever built for the show.
